About this program
CQU's Bachelor of Medical Science (Specialisation) (CG93) prepares students for roles in patient testing, developing therapeutics, disease monitoring and knowledge-sharing in medical biotechnology or pharmaceuticals, with a choice of major in Biotechnology, Biotechnology and Diagnostic Pathology, or Clinical Physiology. Students complete work-integrated learning placements with organisations such as pathology providers. Graduates pursue careers as clinical physiologists, medical scientists, or in biomedical research and diagnostic pathology.

- A core structure plus a specialisation major chosen from Biotechnology (medical research and biopharmaceutical industry focus)
- Biotechnology and Diagnostic Pathology (molecular/cellular biotechnology plus diagnostic laboratory science)
- or Clinical Physiology (diagnostic physiological measurement including cardiac, respiratory, neurophysiology and sleep science)
