About this program
Curtin University's Master of Applied Science (Sustainability and Climate Leadership) degree. The Master of Applied Science (Sustainability and Climate Leadership) an advanced practice and research-led degree that explores a transdisciplinary mix of specialist areas, including leadership for systems change, economics for sustainability, climate resilience, circular economy, sustainable development, and net-zero cities and regenerative urban design. Students will build their competence in strategic and systems thinking through analysing international perspectives on policy and practice, while developing their ability to learn and work collaboratively with others towards change. Students will learn to read social, cultural, and ecological systems, interpret complex evidence, and apply place-based approaches. Drawing on these insights, they will learn to design policies and social innovations that shift governance practices, resource flows, and urban environments towards justice, sustainability, and climate resilience. Learning blends immersive field work, studio and lab practice, and sustained partnership projects with industry, government, and community organisations. Graduates will be empowered to lead change towards sustainability and climate action in any environment, with the technical, practical, and collaboration skills to fill diverse professional roles. Master Degrees (Coursework) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for professional practice, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications.
