- Semester 116 core units plus an 8-unit supplementary program (an 8-unit major, or a 6-unit minor plus 2 electives). Year 1: Society, Culture and Health, Anatomy and Physiology 1, Human Genetics, plus Introductory Statistics or Chemistry for the Life Sciences depending on ATAR Chemistry background
- Semester 1Introduction to Pathophysiology, Introduction to Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Anatomy and Physiology 2, Human Evolution and Ecology (Semester 2). Year 2: Applied Microbiology, Medical Biochemistry, plus major or minor units
- Applied Physiology, Advanced Biomedical Techniques, plus major or minor units (Semester 2). Year 3: Biomedical Ethics, Professional Practice in Biomedical Science, two options from a list including Evolutionary Perspectives on Health and Disease, the Biology of Human Disease, Human Reproduction Development and Ageing, Developmental Biology, Medical Genetics, Histopathology and Applied Histotechniques, Forensic Genetics and Forensic Skills, Coronial Law and Mortuary Practice, plus major or minor or elective units. Majors available: Applied Chemistry, Data Science, Human Biology, Human Genetics, Medical Sciences, Nutrition Science. Total: 3 years full time or part time equivalent, on campus at Joondalup, South West or Sri Lanka
Admissions
All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published where applicable, or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following: AQF Certificate IV, 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider or equivalent, an Undergraduate Certificate, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, a University Preparation Course, the Indigenous University Orientation Course, or the Experience Based Entry Scheme. For international students, requirements include secondary school results.
