About this program
The Bachelor of Screen Production at Edith Cowan University, taught at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, teaches students to use screen storytelling to bring critical issues to the forefront, challenge societal norms and highlight diverse perspectives. Course structure
1 term of coursework
- 240credit points of core units plus 120 credit points of electives, with no ATAR required for entry (Creative Humanities Portfolio Entry pathway). Year 1: Introduction to Screen Practice, Screen Evolution, two electives (Semester 1)
- Semester 1Post-production Style and Techniques, Introduction to Studio Production, Writing Drama, an elective (Semester 2). Year 2: Screen Practice: Documentary, Screenwriting, an elective
- Semester 1Experiments in Screen, Screen Practice: Collaboration, an elective (Semester 2). Year 3: Contemporary Screen Audiences, the Production House: Industry Projects, an elective
- Creative Screen Project, two electives (Semester 2). Elective sequences available in Photography and Broadcast and Journalism. Total: 3 years full time or part time equivalent, at City Campus
Admissions
All applicants must meet the academic admission requirements for this course. The indicative or guaranteed ATAR is as published where applicable, or academic admission requirements may be satisfied through completion of one of the following: AQF Certificate IV, 0.25 EFTSL of study at bachelor level or higher at an Australian higher education provider or equivalent, an Undergraduate Certificate, the Skills for Tertiary Admissions Test, a University Preparation Course, the Indigenous University Orientation Course, or the Experience Based Entry Scheme. For international students, requirements include secondary school results.
