Employability and Opportunity
Rapid digital transformation of businesses caused by COVID-19 pandemic in Australia and globally has created a new expectation from customers and employees for information technology (IT) to be at the centre of productivity.
The demand for skilled IT professionals is reflected in the various skilled migration occupations and pathways that are currently available in Australia.
The MIT could open up a range of career opportunities for graduates within the systems, networks and database sectors that are currently identified as ‘strategic skills’ by the Australian Government.
Higher Wages and Recognition
The course is designed for you if you have a passion for information technologies, regardless of your IT background. By providing you with a scholarly and practical learning environment we will enable you to develop and augment your current skills in the field.
As an MIT student you will have an opportunity to build up your technical and non-technical skill sets to contribute to the workforce in many diverse industry environments.
Not only will the MIT degree enhance your industry recognition but you will be able to take advantage of the high wages that those with these skills can demand.
Specialisations in Big Data or Cyber Security
ICMS also offers the Master of Information Technology with two optional specialisations:
Master of Information Technology (Big Data and Analytics)
Master of Information Technology (Cyber Security)
Traditional skills such as statistics and data management will no longer be sufficient and new skills such as data visualisation, data analytics programming, big data and artificial intelligence (AI) will be increasingly more important.
Cyber security professionals can use their skills in big data to protect against cyber-attacks and to identify threats and abnormal behaviour.
Knowledge of data science can help cyber security professionals to make connections in relation to minor abnormalities and to assist them in understanding the bigger picture. By being able to understand big data sets and comparing real time data, data science knowledge can assist cyber professionals in identifying potential threats in advance.
For these reasons the specialisation MITs will be in high demand by global organisations.
