Students who complete the Bachelor of Arts pass degree can apply to progress into this End-on Honours year, an additional 24 credit points of supervised research and coursework at JCU's College of Arts, Society and Education, subject to the College Dean's approval and any quota on honours places. Bachelor of Arts (Honours) [End-on] graduates finish with an AQF Level 8 honours qualification on top of their original degree, opening research and further-study pathways the pass degree alone does not.

Admissions

Completion of an AQF Level 7 Bachelor Degree in an arts discipline or qualifications recognised by the Division as equivalent. with an overall GPA of at least 5.0. Applicants must satisfy the requirements of the college(s) in which honours are to be undertaken to ensure that the standard of academic achievement necessary to proceed to an honours degree has been attained. Admission to the honours degree shall follow on directly from the pass degree and, normally, no later than five years following completion of the pass degree. Students for honours who have graduated with a pass degree from another university, or who graduated more than five years ago, may be required to complete such coursework or assessment as the College Dean recommends as a condition of entry to honours.
