About this program
The Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) [End-on] is offered by JCU's College of Medicine and Dentistry. This is an End-on Honours year for students who have completed three, four or five years of JCU's MBBS medical program with a credit average, giving high-achieving medical students a dedicated research year before continuing their medical degree. It comprises 24 credit points, built around Core Subjects (MD4113, MD4112, MD4111). Applicants work with JCU's Graduate Research School on candidature, supervision and milestones throughout the degree.

Admissions
Students must have successfully completed the first three years of the AQF level 7 MBBS program at JCU with a minimum grade point average of 5.0 (i. e. credit average) in each of the years 2 and 3 of the MBBS course (excluding selective subjects) if commencing after completion of MBBS 3. If commencing after completion of MBBS 4, a minimum grade point average of 5.0 in each of years 2, 3 and 4 (excluding selective subjects) is required. If commencing after completion of MBBS 5, a minimum grade point average of 5.0 in each of years 3, 4 and 5 (excluding selective subjects) is required. Application for entry to the program is by approval of the College Dean. Quota restrictions on the number of honours places available may apply from time to time as determined by the College Dean. Information published by JCU or otherwise made available to students when applying, may specify additional criteria to be considered in ranking applicants in order of merit if the number of applications exceeds a quota or other limit on the places made available for the course. Information provided by applicants during the application process and any other information obtained by JCU in the application process may be used by JCU to rank applicants in order of merit by reference to those additional criteria.
