About this program
The Bachelor of Archaeology at La Trobe University has students explore the human past, learning from leading researchers and industry experts about ancient societies, Indigenous histories and archaeological discoveries from Australia and around the world. Students examine how people lived, adapted and transformed landscapes over thousands of years, and build specialist capabilities in archaeological investigation, scientific analysis and ethical community engagement. Practical skills in fieldwork, science and heritage management are developed through hands-on learning, including a second-year industry-partnered excavation subject. Graduates work in consultant archaeology, cultural heritage management, museum curation and research.
