About this program
La Trobe's Master of Cybersecurity is a two-year, 240-credit-point degree taught in Melbourne, Sydney and online, open to applicants with or without an IT background. It builds skills in system design, implementation and testing, then technical depth in ethical hacking and network defence, secure coding, penetration testing, blockchain and cyber forensics, plus the psychology of cybercrime and approaches to governance and risk. Microsoft certifications and hands-on work in on-campus Cisco labs are built in, and students choose an industry development project or a work-based placement. A 1.5-year pathway is available for applicants with a computer science or IT bachelor degree, with early exit as a graduate certificate or diploma. IELTS 6.5 with no band below 6.0. Graduates work as security analysts, penetration testers, security consultants and security architects. Indicative international tuition is around A$45,600 per year.
