About this program

The Master of Creative Writing teaches emerging writers to understand and develop their craft in a small community of writers. The focus is on developing creativity and writing skills, and providing expert training for those aiming for professional publication. Students are encouraged to experiment, hone their writing proficiency, and develop a technical vocabulary for critiquing their own work and the work of others. Specialist units engage with novel and short story writing, literary and popular fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction (memoir, writing about place, personal essay), and manuscript development. This is a Macquarie University (Sydney) course.
