About this program
The Master of Environment and Conservation at Macquarie University develops the skills and knowledge needed to understand environmental change and design effective responses that support both ecological integrity and human wellbeing. Students study how environmental and ecological systems function, how biodiversity can be conserved, and how social and biophysical processes interact to shape environmental outcomes, applying biological theory to conservation practice from managing wildlife populations to protecting whole ecosystems. Students build practical capabilities in biodiversity survey and monitoring. The degree takes two years full-time, or 1.5 years with relevant prior study.
