Master of Environment and Conservation

The Master of Environment and Conservation at Macquarie University is a master's degree. Managing and restoring the environment for future generations is one of the defining challenges of the era. Human activity has contributed to deforestation, pollution, climate change and species decline, yet informed and responsible human action is also central to addressing these issues. In this degree, students develop the skills and knowledge needed to understand environmental change and to design effective responses that support both ecological integrity and human wellbeing. Students study how environmental and ecological systems function, how biodiversity can be conserved, and how social and biophysical processes interact to shape environmental outcomes. The course develops their ability to apply biological theory to conservation practice, from managing wildlife populations to protecting entire ecosystems.
