About this program
Managing and restoring the environment for future generations is one of the defining challenges of our era. This degree develops the skills and knowledge needed to understand environmental change and design effective responses supporting both ecological integrity and human wellbeing, studying how environmental and ecological systems function, how biodiversity can be conserved, and how social and biophysical processes interact to shape environmental outcomes. Students build practical capabilities in biodiversity survey, monitoring and assessment using field-based, analytical and modelling approaches, with field experience giving direct exposure to Australia's unique biodiversity. Compulsory field trips apply, with additional costs of roughly $250 to $800. This is a Macquarie University (Sydney) course.
