Master of Data Analytics (MDA)
Melbourne Institute of Technology, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
The Master of Data Analytics (MDA) trains students to combine statistics and data with technology to analyse large structured and unstructured datasets, running a cognate/non-cognate entry structure (an IT-background cognate stream and a broader non-cognate stream that first covers foundational IT units). Students can specialise via an IoT Data Analytics or Cloud Networks elective stream, and the degree is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) at the Professional Level.
It is a genuinely distinct degree from both the undergraduate Bachelor of Data Analytics and the Master of Business Analytics: MDA's core is IT/data-science-heavy (data science, data security, predictive analytics, big-data software practice) rather than the business-application focus of the Business Analytics master's. The final-year Data Analytics Capstone Project is an industry-based unit. Offered from the Sydney and Melbourne campuses across three intakes a year.
