Melbourne Polytechnic has a long history of working alongside the Deaf community and as Victoria’s sole provider of this accredited pathway to learning Auslan, you will have opportunities to participate in Deaf community-based activities and events with our industry partners.
Diploma of Auslan PSP51018 Deaf cohort:
We are excited to share with you that we are planning to deliver the Diploma of Auslan PSP51018 for d/Deaf cohort in. This course is for the d/Deaf Auslan signer who can understand a wide range of demanding long texts and recognise it’s implicit meaning and who can express him or herself fluently and spontaneously. In addition, this is for the Auslan signer who can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns and connectors. Admissions
Requirements Pathway Program: Successful completion of Certificate IV in Auslan PSP40818 or equivalent. ACSF Working Level 4 for Reading, ACSF Working Level 3 for Numeracy and ADCF Level Intermediate for Digital Literacy. For new application and applicants who had a break in training, attendance at an Information Session is highly recommended. After the Information Session, applicants will be contacted to book them in for the mandatory group interview. You will be offered a place based on the outcome of the group selection interview. Direct entry program: ACSF Woking Level 4 for Reading, ACSF Working Level 3 for Numeracy, and ADCF Level Intermediate for Digital Literacy. Attendance at an Information Session is highly recommended. After the Information Session, applicants will be contacted to book them in for the mandatory group interview. You will be offered a place based on the outcome of this group selection interview. Academic: : Australian Year 12 equivalency English: Academic IELTS 6.0 overall, Pearson PTE Academic 50 overall or Melbourne Polytechnic recognised equivalency Other: Applicants are required to be at least 18 years old
