Undergraduate
Bachelor of International Relations
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash's Bachelor of International Relations examines power, governance, conflict and cooperation at local, national and global levels, teaching students how political institutions actually operate and why conflict and cooperation occur between states and other political actors. Beyond core international relations training, students choose from five elective streams: peace, conflict and security; policy and governance; comparative politics; development, rights and gender; or climate futures, letting the degree build deep expertise in the specific area of international relations most relevant to a student's career goals. The course develops practical skills in critical thinking, research, intercultural competence and communication, aiming to produce graduates who can interpret and influence political change in a constantly shifting global environment rather than only analyse it from the outside. It suits students aiming for careers in diplomacy, international organisations, government, policy analysis or further postgraduate study in international relations or a related discipline.
