Undergraduate
Diploma of Arts
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash College's Diploma of Arts is a pathway into a Monash University Arts degree for students drawn to social and political issues, language, literature, history and how communication shapes the world. Part 1 builds core arts subjects preparing students for their chosen specialisation, and Part 2 offers a choice of three streams: Psychology, leading into a Psychology or Criminology major; Sociology, leading into Arts, Global Studies or Politics, Philosophy and Economics; or Media Communication, leading into Media Communication or Digital Media and Communication. During Part 2, students study the same subjects as first-year Monash University students, so the diploma genuinely builds toward the destination degree rather than functioning as separate, lower-level content. International students who complete Part 2 gain direct entry into second year of their Monash degree, while domestic students can enter first year after Part 1 or second year after Part 2, making it a flexible route in for students who don't meet direct entry requirements or need extra academic preparation.
