Undergraduate
Diploma of Science
Monash University, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
Monash College's Diploma of Science is a pathway into second year of a Monash University Science degree, introducing the fundamentals of the scientific method in both theory and practice across chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, psychology, computing and engineering-related units. Part 1 builds core science subjects across these disciplines, while Part 2 has students studying the same subjects as first-year Monash University students, developing specialist knowledge in whichever science area they intend to major in later. Assessment includes group projects, oral and poster presentations and a final exam, reflecting both the collaborative and individually assessed sides of university science study. International students who complete Part 2 gain direct entry into second year of their Monash Science degree, while domestic students can enter first year after Part 1 or second year after Part 2. It suits students aiming for a science career at Monash who need an alternative entry route due to academic score, English proficiency or an international qualification gap.
