About this program
Monash's Master of Bioethics gives healthcare professionals, scientists and policy makers a thorough grounding in the ethical, social and policy dimensions of healthcare and biomedical science, covering topics like life-and-death decision-making, the ethics of emerging medical technologies, and public health measures for disease prevention. The course is specifically designed to be accessible to students with little or no prior background in philosophy or ethics, while also offering enough depth to suit philosophy graduates who want to specialise in bioethics specifically. It builds the capacity for independent research and offers a pathway into doctoral studies for students who want to keep working in the field academically. - The course comprises 96 points structured into three parts: Part A. Core Studies (24 points), Part B. Applied Studies (24 points) and Part C. Elective studies (48 points) Units are 6 points unless otherwise stated. Part A.
