About this program
Monash's Master of International Relations tackles the big questions currently shaping global politics, including global justice, war and peace, social movements and inter-state relations, building comprehensive knowledge of international affairs grounded in genuine empirical analysis rather than surface-level current events discussion. Core units cover the fundamental debates in international relations, and students then curate their remaining study toward global business and management, global justice and development, or global security depending on their career direction. A potential pathway into a Higher Degree by Research exists for students who want to pursue original research within the field. - The course comprises 96 credit points and is structured in four parts: Part A. Core studies, Part B. Applied studies, Part C. Professional practice studies and Part D. Elective studies. Units are 6 points unless otherwise stated. Part A. Core studies (36 credit points) . You must complete 36 credit points (six units) from the following list. Entry level 2: 72 points to complete Duration 1.5 years full-time. 3 years part-time. An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a cognate* discipline with a minimum credit (60%) average. or An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) and an Australian graduate certificate (or equivalent) in a cognate* discipline with a minimum pass (50%) average in both qualifications. Entry level 3: 48 points to complete Duration 1 year full-time. 2 years part-time.
