1 term of coursework
- The course comprises 96 points structured into three parts: Part A. Core studies (36 points), Part B. Applied studies (12 points) and Part C. Partner studies (48 points). Monash students will normally commence the first year at Monash (in July), and the second year at SJTU. Following completion of the academic program at Monash comprising 48 credit points (one year full-time) of study towards the Master of Strategic Communications Management, selected students will travel to China to complete a further 48 points (one year full-time) study toward the Master of Journalism and Communication from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). The thesis will take place at the end of the second year at SJTU (normally around early June). SJTU students will normally commence the first year at SJTU, and the second year at Monash (July). Admissions
An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) with a major in humanities and social sciences with a minimum credit (60%) average. Or An Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) and an Australian graduate certificate (or equivalent) in a cognate* discipline with a minimum pass (50%) average in both qualifications. *Cognate disciplines include: humanities and social sciences For Chinese Nationals: Please note that Shanghai Jiao Tong University requires Chinese nationals to sit and pass the National Master Unified Entrance Examination for master students (written exam and an interview with Shanghai Jiao Tong University) before applying to Monash for admission to this course.
