About this program
A three-year degree in applied social care, developed with industry and community partners for roles across the care and community services sector. Students choose one major from Child and Family Studies, Human Behaviour, International Aid and Development, Sociology, or Foundations of Business Management, and build practical skills through internships and placements with community organisations, government agencies and not-for-profits.
One thing to be clear on: this is a social care degree, not an accredited social work qualification, so it does not by itself lead to registration as a social worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers. Students who want that should look at an accredited Bachelor of Social Work. Entry is an ATAR of about 70, with Murdoch RISE adjustments and other alternative pathways available. Graduates work as child, family and youth support workers, disability support workers, care coordinators and community services officers. It suits students headed for frontline community and care roles.
