Doctor of Philosophy
Murdoch University, Perth, WA, Australia
About this program
Murdoch's research doctorate, normally four years of full-time candidature, ending in a thesis of no more than 100,000 words that makes an original contribution to knowledge. Admission requires a bachelor's degree with at least upper second class honours or equivalent postgraduate research preparation, plus a written proposal and a nominated supervisor. Candidature is offered across all disciplines, and Murdoch particularly encourages interdisciplinary work. Its recognised research strengths include veterinary and animal science, agriculture, food and environmental science, supported by facilities such as Whitby Falls Farm and the Nambeelup food research centre, alongside energy, health and social sciences. It suits people with a strong research background aiming at academic, industry or government research careers.
