About this program

A 24 credit point graduate diploma in extractive metallurgy for people working in or entering the minerals industry, covering mineral processing and comminution, hydrometallurgy and pyrometallurgy, process metallurgy and the economics of mineral resources. Teaching is by staff with industry and research backgrounds, and while much of the course is available online, on-campus laboratory sessions are required for the practicum unit. It also prepares students for higher degree study in extractive metallurgy. It suits minerals-industry professionals who need specialist metallurgical knowledge or a step toward a master's or PhD.
