About this program

A fee-free 15-week enabling program at Murdoch's Perth campus for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who want to move into an undergraduate degree without the usual prerequisites, starting from around Year 10 level. Study is on campus, full-time over four days a week or part-time across two semesters, in classes capped at 30 for close support. The curriculum covers academic writing, referencing, essay structure, scientific method and study skills such as time management and critical thinking. Because it is classed as full-time study, students may be eligible for Centrelink payments. On completion at the required standard, students qualify to apply for entry to a Murdoch undergraduate degree. It suits First Nations students, including mature-age applicants, returning to or entering formal study.
