About this program
A postgraduate degree in community development, covering the ideas and practices used to support community-led change in Australia and internationally. Students work with real, active community projects, ranging from cultural-strength projects in remote areas to urban agriculture, sustainability and grassroots creative arts initiatives. Entry requires a recognised bachelor's degree or higher, or equivalent training and experience, and it does not need to be in a directly related field. Graduates work in community and social services, local government, humanitarian organisations and NGOs, aid work, social and economic planning, sustainable development and Indigenous governance. It suits community-sector practitioners who want to deepen their practice and move into planning, coordination and leadership roles, as well as graduates entering the field.
