About this program
Extend your knowledge of engineering by specialising in one of three emerging areas of engineering that will prepare you for a career across a range of industries. Develop your professional skills with over 300 hours of practical experience through an integrated professional practice unit while developing your professional portfolio. You will learn from industry practitioners and can tailor your degree to graduate in a compressed timeframe. Develop your studies even further with the option of Engineering Design or Engineering Research minors that can progress into a research career. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

1 term of coursework
- Core topics covered in this course include: How to evaluate and employ science and engineering knowledge and skills to solve complex engineering problems and broader aspects of engineering practice. How to systematically investigate, interpret, analyse and create innovative solutions to advanced engineering problems. Methods to identify and critically appraise current research developments, advanced technologies, emerging issues and interdisciplinary linkages impacting engineering, including sustainable engineering practice. How to identify, analyse and communicate the interactions between systems, practice and people for a sustainable engineering environment. Well-developed ethical and professional behaviours in the application of broad engineering knowledge. Effective strategies for advanced oral and written communication in professional and non-professional domains. How to be an effective team member and leader including how to recognise the value of alternative and diverse viewpoints. I use what I learned at Murdoch University every day. Admissions
Entry may be gained through either of the following means into the Master of Engineering Practice: 1. Successful completion of a four-year Engineering degree accredited by Engineers Australia (or equivalent Washington Accord-recognised degree) in an approved field of Engineering, * 2. Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree (AQF Level 7, non-Washington Accord), or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by Murdoch University, which includes prior studies in Engineering or Engineering Technology, * Recognition of prior learning for any students with existing studies would be considered on a case-by-case basis through the standard recognition of prior learning processes at Murdoch. *Entry into each major is subject to different approved field of Engineering and cognate degrees
