About this program
Effective management of human interaction with the environment requires understanding the relationships between land, water, air, biota, and people. The Master of Environmental Science builds the procedures and skills needed to investigate complex environmental issues across settings such as urban, mining, agricultural, marine, and freshwater environments, and examines environmental issues from multiple perspectives so that solutions can account for technical, social, and political needs. Students can build knowledge in areas relevant to their current role or the field they are moving into, developing the interdisciplinary scientific and policy skills needed to address complex environmental problems and contribute to environmental management practice. Environmental consultant and environmental scientist roles appear on some skilled and regional occupation lists, offering a real, if less direct, migration pathway than fields such as engineering or health. The program is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Admissions
Completion of the Graduate Certificate in Environmental Assessment and Management or Graduate Certificate in Environmental Science or Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science (AQF Level 8), or an equivalent graduate course in a closely related field of education; or equivalent training. Minimum of GPA of 2.0 is required.
