About this program
Murdoch states its sustainability master's programs have run for over a decade, bringing together students to examine global sustainability challenges and responses at international, regional, and local levels, including urban and regional sustainability, climate change adaptation, sustainability education and ethics, and sustainability and international development within Asia. Students can choose professional-based electives in project and risk management, ethics, sustainability in business, and leading and managing non-government organisations, or policy-based electives in environmental impact assessment, environmental policy, and energy policy. The course offers career-building sustainability internships for academic credit and options for specialised professional or Masters-level sustainability research. Some sustainability-related roles, such as environmental consultant or environmental scientist, appear on Australia's skilled and regional occupation lists, but the pathway is less direct than for fields such as engineering or nursing, and many graduates move into government, non-government, or corporate sustainability roles rather than a defined migration occupation. This course is delivered by Murdoch University in Western Australia.
