About this program
A postgraduate degree in sustainability practice and policy across energy, water, waste, climate change, biodiversity and urban planning. Core study covers urban and regional sustainability, climate change adaptation, and sustainability ethics and education, with a strand on sustainable development in Asia. Students then choose an emphasis through electives: a professional set covering project and risk management, sustainability in business, and leading non-government organisations, or a policy set covering environmental impact assessment, environmental policy and energy policy. Entry is open to graduates from a range of backgrounds. Graduates work as sustainability and environmental officers and advisers in business, government and non-government organisations, and in international development. It suits people who want to lead sustainability programs and need both the technical grounding and the policy and management side.
