About this program
The Master of Applied Science (Health & Medical Physics) at RMIT University in Melbourne combines five specialist courses in radiation oncology, diagnostic imaging (nuclear medicine, CT, and MRI), radiation protection, and human anatomy and physiology with an independent research project. The program is accredited by the Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM) as a required postgraduate qualification on the path to certification as a medical physicist in Australia. Students carry out their research project with one of RMIT's partner hospitals or research institutes, using equipment including a brachytherapy afterloader suite, gel dosimetry, and an X-ray microCT scanner, and the project is examined by thesis.
