The Masters by Thesis is Southern Cross Universitys research-based postgraduate degree, in which at least 70 percent of the course of study comprises an original research project and thesis. Candidates work with a confirmed Principal Supervisor and co-supervisor, and admission is subject to the availability of facilities and supervision in the chosen field.

Course structure
1 term of coursework
- Full-time equivalent duration is 2 years. The thesis must show evidence of competence in research and scholarship
- including reviewing literature in a critical and focused manner
- deploying analytic
- comparative and critically reflective skills
- gathering and analysing material and interpreting results competently
- and utilising and justifying appropriate methodologies. The thesis must be clearly
- accurately and cogently written
- demonstrating originality and a thorough understanding of the field of study
Admissions
Applicants must possess a degree equivalent to a Bachelors degree from the University and satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the Dean (Graduate School). Applications may be submitted at any time, subject to the availability of facilities and supervision.
