University of Canberra, Canberra, ACT, Australia
About this program
A three-year degree (72 credit points) with a choice of six majors: journalism, sports media, media production, public relations and strategic communication, social media and content creation, or marketing communication, with a double-major option.
Up to 200 hours of professional experience is built in, including at least 100 hours of approved internship placement, with partners such as the ABC, Seven West Media, the Brumbies and the Australian Public Service. Students work with real facilities: the UCFM radio station, television studios and editing suites, and The Owl publishing platform. Entry is a selection rank of about 60 with no assumed knowledge. It suits students who want to build a portfolio and try several media disciplines before committing to one.
