About this program

A three-year production-focused degree that takes students through the full pipeline from concept to delivery, with specialisation possible in directing, cinematography, editing, sound design or producing, and dedicated units in screenwriting, documentary and creative producing.

Students use film cameras, lighting, green screen, and industry-standard editing and colour grading software, and complete a 100-hour work-integrated learning placement. Past placements include Wildbear, Channel 9, the National Film and Sound Archive and ABC TV productions. Entry is a selection rank of about 60, or a portfolio. It suits people who want hands-on, collaborative filmmaking training with a real production network rather than a purely theoretical screen-studies degree.
