About this program

A two-year master's (48 credit points) with seven core units on politics, communication trends and research methods, a restricted set of electives, and one specialisation of five units in strategic communication, marketing, journalism, or digital marketing.

It is open to graduates of any discipline, and applicants with a related degree can receive up to 12 credit points of advanced standing, shortening the program to about 18 months. A 180-hour internship is built into the curriculum, with placements in agencies, PR firms, government departments and non-profits, in Australia or overseas, which is a real advantage given Canberra's concentration of government communication and public affairs work. It suits people moving toward senior roles in strategic communication, brand and marketing, or journalism.
