About this program
A two-year master's (48 credit points) that takes graduates from any field into IT, so no prior computing study is assumed. Thirty credit points of core cover introductory IT, systems analysis and modelling, professional practice, research methods and a technology capstone research project; the remaining 18 form one specialisation from cybersecurity, AI and machine learning, cloud computing and IoT, data science, or a general track.
It is fully accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society, and work-integrated learning places students with organisations, which matters in Canberra given the size of the federal government technology workforce. Delivery is flexible across weekday, evening, blended and online options. It suits career changers moving into roles such as systems analyst, cybersecurity specialist, data analyst or IT manager.
