About this program
The Advanced Diploma in Theology and Ministry builds on the Diploma in Theology, deepening students' understanding of Biblical Studies and Christian Thought and History alongside further study in practical ministry. Graduates gain skills to articulate theological and scriptural knowledge and apply it to ministry practice and culturally relevant contexts. It is delivered across 12 University of Divinity member colleges nationally and can be combined with the Bachelor of Ministry or Bachelor of Theology as a dual qualification.

1 term of coursework
- The award consists of 288 points across 16 standard undergraduate units: 18 points each in Old Testament
- New Testament
- Church History and Systematic Theology
- 36 points in Practical Theology
- 36 further points from Biblical Studies and/or Christian Thought and History
- and 144 further points in any discipline. Standard full-time duration is 2 years (up to 8 years part-time)
Admissions
Minimum academic requirement is one of an Australian Year 12 qualification, the Diploma in Ministry or the Diploma in Theology; probationary admission is not available. Up to 180 points of credit may be granted, including for the Diploma in Ageing and Pastoral or Spiritual Care and the Diploma of Catholic Youth Ministry, per the University's Credit Policy.
