About this program
The Diploma in Theology introduces students to the key theological disciplines of Biblical Studies and Christian Thought and History, extendable through electives in practical ministry studies. Graduates gain sound foundational skills for the critical study of Christian texts and the ability to apply theological and scriptural knowledge to their own and other contexts. It is the entry-level undergraduate award in the consortium, offered by 12 University of Divinity member colleges, and serves as a pathway into the Advanced Diploma in Theology and Ministry, Advanced Diploma in Philosophy, Bachelor of Ministry or Bachelor of Theology.

Course structure
- The award consists of 144 points across 8 standard undergraduate units: 36 points in Biblical Studies
- 36 points in Christian Thought and History
- and 72 further points in any discipline. Standard full-time duration is 1 year (up to 4 years part-time)
Admissions
Minimum academic requirement is an Australian Year 12 qualification or equivalent, and probationary admission is available. Up to 90 points of credit may be granted, including for the Diploma in Ageing and Pastoral or Spiritual Care (10642NAT) or the Diploma in Ageing and Pastoral Care (91561NSW), per the University's Credit Policy.
