About this program
The Master of Spiritual Direction enables students to acquire advanced knowledge of the theological and scriptural foundations of spiritual direction in the Christian tradition and to apply this knowledge in professional practice, including critical reflection on guiding an individual's spiritual experience. It is delivered by two member colleges (Uniting College for Leadership and Theology and Whitley College).

- The award consists of 288 points (12 standard postgraduate units): 96 points of postgraduate foundational units in Spiritual Direction
- 24 points in Biblical Studies
- 24 points in Systematic Theology or Church History
- 96 points of postgraduate elective units in Spiritual Direction
- Spirituality or Pastoral Theology and Ministry Studies
- 48 pointsand either a capstone unit in Spiritual Direction of at least 24 points or RQ9748M Minor Thesis
- with any remaining points made up of further postgraduate units in Spiritual Direction or Spirituality. Standard full-time duration is 2 years (up to 6 years part-time)
Admissions
Admission requires successful completion of an undergraduate degree or an approved equivalent. Up to 144 points of credit may be granted, per the University's Credit Policy.
