Bachelor of Engineering

University of Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC, Australia

About this program

The University of Melbourne does not offer an undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering. Under the Melbourne Model, students who want to become engineers first complete a three-year bachelor's degree, usually the Bachelor of Science taking an engineering systems major (or the Bachelor of Design for some disciplines), then complete the two- to three-year Master of Engineering, which carries professional accreditation from Engineers Australia. The Bachelor of Science plus Master of Engineering pathway takes about five to six years in total. Prospective engineering students should apply for the Bachelor of Science and choose an engineering-focused major, or the Bachelor of Design. This page is kept for reference because a Bachelor of Engineering still appears in the CRICOS register. International tuition for the Bachelor of Science is around A$50,000 per year.
