About this program
The Diploma in Mathematical Sciences at the University of Melbourne, open only to students already admitted to another University of Melbourne degree, gives students a mathematics qualification alongside their undergraduate studies. Students specialise in applied mathematics, operations research, pure mathematics, or statistics and stochastic processes, completing up to 50 points of mathematics and statistics subjects alongside their primary degree.
Graduates gain numerical and modelling skills applicable across almost every area of employment, engaging in mathematical discourse across science, industry, technology and commerce.

- 100credit points, completed together with an undergraduate degree for a total program of between 350 and 400 points
- Up to 50 points of Mathematics and Statistics subjects in the undergraduate degree may also count towards the Diploma
- 100points of Mathematics and Statistics subjects at post-VCE level are required, including 50 points at third year level
- Not available to students in the Bachelor of Science majoring in Mathematics and Statistics, Data Science or Mathematical Physics
