About this program
The Master of Electrical Engineering at the University of Melbourne develops the skills to build and improve power and telecommunications systems and future electronic and autonomous devices, with specialisations in Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems, Business, Electronics and Embedded Systems, or Low-power Systems. Students with a relevant undergraduate major complete the degree in two years, starting in second year with credit for foundation subjects.
Graduates work across telecommunications, defence, energy and automation, with a skillset also valued in management consulting, finance and project management.

Admissions
To be considered for entry into the 200-point (2-year) course option, you must: Have completed a bachelor degree (AQF7) from the University of Melbourne majoring in Electrical Engineering Systems with a weighted average mark of 65% or equivalent. Or Have completed a Bachelor of Engineering (AQF7), or equivalent as recognised by the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, in a cognate (relevant) discipline with a weighted average mark (WAM) of 65% or equivalent. Cognate (relevant) disciplines include: Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Automation Engineering. And Have completed below prerequisite subject(s): At least 25 points of appropriate tertiary-level Mathematics equivalent to MAST10006 Calculus 2 and MAST10007 Linear Algebra , and At least 25 points of appropriate tertiary-level Physics equivalent to PHYC1
