Master of Global Media Communication
University of Melbourne, Melbourne, VIC, Australia
About this program
The Master of Global Media Communication examines how media structures and communication practices are changing across the world as digital platforms disrupt traditional media. Students develop skills in critical analysis, strategic thinking and audience research, and get hands-on training in media writing and audiovisual production for journalism, broadcasting, digital media and professional communications. An optional overseas exchange semester is available at partners such as McGill, Humboldt and Fudan. It is taught on campus at Parkville with March and July intakes over two years full time, with shorter options for applicants who hold relevant prior qualifications. Graduates work in digital and social media, strategic and corporate communications, journalism and broadcasting, public sector communications, media research and content production.
