Undergraduate

Bachelor of Arts

University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

About this program

UQ's Bachelor of Arts gives students access to more than 45 study areas across the humanities, social sciences and languages, one of the largest selections at any Australian university, with the option to study overseas for up to a year while still earning credit toward the degree. The first year is open for students to explore different disciplines before committing to a major, and the degree can be combined with any of 17 other UQ undergraduate degrees to complete two qualifications in less time than studying them separately. Industry-focused learning, including internships, fieldwork and work experience, runs alongside classroom study rather than being an optional add-on. Core courses include media and society, creative writing, introduction to criminology and studies of Aboriginal sites of significance. Graduates move into varied roles including cultural heritage manager, communications adviser, humanitarian aid worker and arts festival director.
