About this program
The Bachelor of Biomedical Science is a three-year degree at the St Lucia campus covering the fundamentals of cell and molecular biology through to the anatomy and physiology of body systems, with a strong emphasis on the scientific process from experimental design to computer modelling. Students gain extensive laboratory experience in teaching facilities equipped with more than fifteen million dollars of research infrastructure, including UQ's Gross Anatomy Facility and the Integrated Pathology Learning Centre with its collection of human pathology specimens. Students can explore research through Summer and Winter Research Programs or a third-year research project. Graduates work in medical and health research, laboratory and diagnostic science, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, and public health, or continue to postgraduate study in medicine, dentistry or research.
