Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Honours)

University of Queensland, Brisbane, QLD, Australia

About this program

UQ's Bachelor of Politics, Philosophy and Economics (Honours) combines all three disciplines to prepare students for leadership careers in business, politics, the not-for-profit sector or academia. Core courses across introductory microeconomics, introduction to Australian politics, critical reasoning and introduction to ethics build a common foundation before students specialise in one area or continue across all three as a general path. A Work-Integrated Learning course lets students apply their theoretical knowledge to real business problems, and small, high-achieving cohorts create close academic relationships with teaching staff who hold a significant share of Australia's competitive research grants. A global study experience is built into the degree to give students an international network before they graduate. Typical graduate roles include economic policy adviser, political adviser, public commentator and diplomat.
