About this program
The Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Sydney is a 3-year undergraduate bachelor's degree. It provides a background in both the humanities and the sciences, equipping students with valuable skills that will make students highly desirable to employers across many industries. It offers exploration across various fields without the confines of a singular specialised area of study, allowing students to indulge in various academic pursuits. Students study core and core selective liberal studies units in topics including academic writing, critical thinking and ethics. Students choose a major from either the Arts or Science disciplinary pools, and complete additional units from the other faculty to support their studies. Students also complete elective units from the disciplinary pools, the shared pool or the Open Learning Environment as needed to meet the requirements of the course.
