About this program
The Bachelor of Political, Economic and Social Sciences (Honours) at the University of Sydney is an intensive, year-long program of advanced study built around an independent research thesis, developed in collaboration with a supervisor who specialises in the student's chosen field. Students take seminar classes alongside their research, extending the analytical, research and communication skills built during their undergraduate degree.
The honours year prepares some students for careers as professional researchers and academics, and serves as a capstone for others. Graduates move into roles including current affairs journalist, diplomat, government administrator, policy researcher and political adviser.
