About this program
The University of Sydney's Master of Data Science is a 1.5-year full-time coursework degree in the Faculty of Engineering, aimed at graduates from a quantitative background who want to specialise in intelligent data-driven systems. It totals 72 credit points: 18 credit points of data science core units, 12 of professional core, a 12-credit-point capstone project, at least 18 credit points of specialisation or data science specialist units, and up to 12 of elective or foundation units. Students work across data mining, machine learning and data visualisation, and develop the skills to communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders. Admission requires an AQF level 7 degree in a cognate discipline with at least a credit average, or completion of the embedded Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in Data Science with a credit average. International tuition is about A$57,900 per year, with Semester 1 and Semester 2 intakes. This is the on-campus course, which is separate from the online Master of Data Science.
