About this program

The University of Western Australia's Master of Professional Engineering degree. This course is for students who have completed undergraduate studies in engineering. You'll specialise in a program of engineering and undertake advanced engineering technical units, professional units, design and research projects, and undertake a 12-week professional practicum. Beyond practice as a professional engineer, you'll pursue further research studies in engineering, as well as seek employment in a wide range of related industries. The course comprises the following specialisations : SP-AUTRB Automation and Robotics. SP-EBIOM Biomedical Engineering. SP-ECHEM Chemical Engineering. SP-ECIVI Civil Engineering. SP-EELEC Electrical and Electronic Engineering. SP-EENVI Environmental Engineering. SP-EMECH Mechanical Engineering. SP-EMINI Mining Engineering. SP-ESOFT Software Engineering. (2) Units must be selected in accordance with the course structure , as set out in these rules

Admissions

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have- (a) a UWA bachelor's degree with a major in MJD-ENGSC Engineering Science 1 or Bachelor of Automation and Robotics; or (b) a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and (i) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of at least 65 per cent; and (ii) prior studies in engineering, physics or mathematics assessed by UWA as providing an adequate basis for success in the course.; or (c) completed units in the Master of Professional Engineering Preliminary course at UWA as prescribed by the School of Engineering; or (d) completed a UWA Diploma in Science with a major in MJD-ENGSC Engineering Science 1 1 Students are required to achieve a course weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent in their bachelor's degree or a weighted average mark of at least 50 per cent in the Level 3 units of the Engineering Science major.
