About this program
Mathematics at the University of Wollongong is the language of data and the basis for successful decision-making and problem-solving across all sectors and industries, with mathematical and statistical models used to analyse information and forecast results in economics, finance, medicine and industrial processes. The mathematics degree teaches highly transferable skills in problem-solving, data analysis, probability and variability, modelling, logistics and logic, and students tackle authentic real-world problems drawn from industry, science and government. Graduates work as mathematicians, statisticians, data analysts and modellers, or progress to research.

Admissions
To qualify for entry into Honours, applicants must hold a relevant bachelor's degree from a recognised tertiary institution with an approved program of study in mathematics and/or statistics, and an average of at least 65%. Students considering an Honours degree are encouraged to consult the Academic Program Director well in advance to seek approval for enrolment, discuss their program, and negotiate a thesis topic and supervisors. Academic Entry Requirements To succeed in your chosen course, you should have completed relevant subjects in senior high school or other qualifications.
