About this program
The Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences (Honours) at UNSW Sydney is a one-year-equivalent advanced undergraduate degree of 48 units of credit for high-achieving students, taken after completing a pass degree in Arts, Social Sciences, Philosophy, Politics and Economics, International Studies, or Social Research and Policy. Students normally complete Honours within the major specialisation they studied in their pass degree. The year focuses on developing analytical and research skills, deepening disciplinary knowledge, and applying methods specific to the chosen discipline, including critical thinking, reflection and analysis, and attention to the place of ethics in private and public life. Honours can be completed full time or part time at the UNSW Kensington campus in Sydney. Graduates can continue to PhD study, and employment opportunities include federal and state government graduate programs, research institutions and non-government organisations.
